Francis Lombard: Accountability, Safety, and Hard Work.

Francis believes our state government needs to do better at acknowledging the needs of everyday working people.  Through his life experiences, including living in multiple states, education, employment, and some hard knocks, he understands the challenges facing working families in Connecticut. 

Francis has had a number of work experiences, from growing up in a family-owned small business that has been operating for 100 years, to working in entertainment and publishing as a writer and editor, to even running his own small publishing company; he has met every new venture with grit and an embrace of hard work. 

Nowadays, as a Quality Assurance Senior Lab technician in Connecticut’s dairy industry, he follows one fundamental principle in his day job: protecting people’s health and safety. Every day, Francis is responsible for ensuring that production lines meet state and federal regulations, including OSHA and HACCP standards. He conducts internal audits, reviews complex compliance documents, and holds suppliers accountable to make sure the product is safe for consumers.

Francis knows that if guidelines are ignored, people’s health could pay the price. He will bring this same critical eye to Hartford. Francis believes in the power of good government to protect its citizens. He knows how to read the fine print, ask the tough questions, and ensure that taxpayer dollars are being used efficiently to fund our public schools, repair our infrastructure, and support local businesses.

From his current job to editing to writing in Animation, Francis has had to work collaboratively with research, development, and production teams to continuously improve processes and solve problems. For the 8th District, he is not interested in partisan bickering; he is interested in collaboration and what works. 

He is committed to bringing a thoughtful, empathetic, and pragmatic approach to the General Assembly. Francis will use his analytical background and working-class roots to fight for policies that protect workers' rights, address education and energy issues, and ensure a safe, prosperous future for the families of the 8th District.
